What is IV Sedation?
When a medication is given through an IV, it is referred to as Intravenous Conscious Sedation also known as IV sedation. Conscious sedation is sometimes referred to as twilight sleep. During sedation, you are not sleeping but will have a decreased memory of the appointment. That leads to the description that you have been unconscious. Providing medication through an IV is safer and more accurate than oral sedation. We can control your level of comfort and sedation very accurately and reverse the sedation at any time.
